North Staffordshire is an area with great potential. It has a tremendous history, and a world-class business heritage in its pottery and ceramics industry. And, its mix of city life, market towns and rural landscapes offers an excellent quality of life to those who live in, work in, or visit the area. However, its recent history includes some real missed opportunities in the context of the regeneration agenda. And, as a result, it is faced with real challenges around population decline, lack of entrepreneurial and enterprise activity, and a decline in its urban centres. As a career move these roles represent a pretty unique opportunity to be at the heart of a transformation agenda that is so diverse and far reaching. We’ve drawn up a business plan that clearly identifies what needs to be done.
